THE STORY
Not a Resume.
A Calling.
Most coaches hand you a list of credentials. James hands you a mirror. This is the story of how he got here—and why he stays.
ORIGIN
South Africa to America
James grew up in South Africa. His family moved to Scotland because of violence—James was held hostage as a child. They moved to America where he didn't speak the language well and struggled with ADHD.
He now sees these as superpowers. The ADHD lets him watch 3–4 juniors simultaneously and know what each one needs. The struggle taught him resilience. The displacement taught him how to connect with anyone.
THE TURNING POINT
Guatemala
James gave up golf in college. He went to Guatemala on a service trip and witnessed a miracle—a young man doctors said would never move again began to move.
The week after, his uncle said: “If you want to help those kids, you've got a gift right here.”
James came back to golf—not for himself, but for service.
PURPOSE
For His Sister
James's sister passed away. Golf gives him a way to honor her memory every day—through how he treats people and helps them find the best in themselves.
Faith is woven into everything James does. Not forced, not performative. God comes first. Teaching is service.
THE MENTORSHIP LINEAGE
Shaped by the Best
James didn't learn from textbooks. He was forged by three of the most respected minds in golf instruction.
Steve Prater
SWING MASTERY
James worked under Steve Prater for 4–5 years without pay. Steve had over 150 D1 golfers and averaged 2,000 lessons per year.
He mentored Lanto Griffin to his 2019 PGA Tour Houston Open victory. During this apprenticeship, James saw over 5 million golf swings and learned to identify root causes instantly.

The Body Changed
James personally coached multiple Division 1 collegiate golfers using fascia training and vertical ground force. The cruising speed gain is the key differentiator—gains at 100% are common. Gains at regular pace mean the body actually changed.

IN HIS OWN WORDS
“Golf is not hard. Bad instruction makes it feel hard.”
“Your body already knows the movement—it just needs translation.”
“The swing is a reaction, not a pose.”
“Teaching rigid positions kills athletes. Teaching movement unlocks them.”
“Golf reveals who you are under pressure. That’s why it matters.”
“I don’t help people shoot lower scores—I help them become someone capable of shooting lower scores.”
“The greatest lessons come from failure, not success.”
“I want to teach people so well they never need another coach.”
“Golf is the mirror. I help you see what’s possible.”
“Within 15-20 balls, you’ll see your potential. Confidence changes first. Scores follow.”
